Construction of Can Gio coastal tourism urban area begins: Vingroup wants to create 'unprecedented urban wonder'

On April 19, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, Vingroup Corporation (investor) started construction of a coastal urban tourism project in Can Gio called Vinhomes Green Paradise.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman and General Director of Vingroup, said that with a total area of ​​2,870 hectares, the project is located at the estuary of Long Hoa commune and Can Thanh town (Can Gio district, Ho Chi Minh City), which has special ecological advantages.

This project is considered one of the international ESG (Environmental - Social - Governance) megacities, marking an important turning point in the sustainable urban development orientation of Ho Chi Minh City and the entire Southeast region.

Notably, Vingroup will invest in an offshore wind power system 10km from shore, providing renewable energy for the entire urban area with a commitment to sustainable development and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The focal point of the project is the "Green Wave Theater" with a scale of 7 hectares, designed by Gensler - the world's leading architectural firm. The theater has a capacity of 5,000 seats, integrating the largest conference center, wedding and exhibition area in Southeast Asia, and an outdoor square with a capacity of 50,000 people.

The group's leader added that this mega-urban area owns a series of utilities such as: the world's largest 443ha artificial lake Paradise Lagoon, 5-star international port Landmark Harbour, two golf courses designed by Tiger Woods and Robert Trent Jones II, 30,000m2 Winter Wonderland amusement park with ice rink, skiing...

With the coastal tourism urban area project, Vingroup Group wishes to create unprecedented "urban wonders" in Vietnam with a system of international quality utilities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Ngoc Hai assessed the Can Gio coastal urban tourism project as a key project of special significance to the city's future development.

The project will become an important destination in the strategy of turning Ho Chi Minh City into an international economic - financial - tourism center, in line with the city's orientation. At the same time, it will create tens of thousands of jobs, promote the development of services - trade, increase budget revenue and improve the quality of life for the people.
